Εκφράζουμε
την πλήρη αντιθεσή μας
στην απόφαση του Υπουργείου Εθνικής
Αμύνης να δημιουργηθεί Διεθνές Κέντρο
Αεροπορικής Εκπαίδευσης Πολεμικής
Αεροπορίας, στην 120 ΠΕΑ του Αεροδρομίου
Καλαμάτας.
Το 2014
η λειτουργία του Πεδίου Βολής Νήσου
Σχίζας ανεστάλη,
μετά από πάνδημη και καθολική πολιτική
αντίθεση, αλλά –δυστυχώς- εργοποίηθηκε
πάλι το 2017. Με την διεύρυνση της χρήσης
του,
απειλείται
ο τόπος μας, με ακομα χειρότερη εξέλιξη.
Είναι
μια απαράδεκτη κατάσταση για μια περιοχή
πυκνοκατοικημένη, με διάσπαρτα μνημεία
διεθνούς σημασίας και – σε μεγάλη έκταση
– ενταγμένη στο δίκτυο NATURA
2000.
Η
λειτουργία πεδίου βολής και υπερπτήσεων
πάνω από τη περιοχή της Μεθώνης,
με χαρακτήρα πολεμικών ασκήσεων,
ειδικότερα
το καλοκαίρι,
είναι
ασύμβατη και αντιφατική με την μεγάλη
τουριστική ανάπτυξη της νοτιοδυτικής
Μεσσηνίας.
Αυτό γίνεται τη στιγμή που, με τις
μεγάλες επενδύσεις που γίνονται και
προγραμματίζονται, η Μεσσηνία εξελίσσεται
σε διεθνή τουριστικό προορισμό. Ενδεικτικά αναφέρουμε τη λειτουργία του Ξενοδοχειακού
συγκρότηματος Costa
Navarino
και τα σχέδια της ιδιοκτήτριας εταιρείας
για πέντε νέα ξενοδοχεία στη Γιάλοβα
και Βελίκα.
Η περιοχή
μας στο νοτιοδυτικό άκρο της Μεσσηνίας
εχει το προνόμιο να διαθέτει πολλές
περιοχές
NATURA
2000
(στην περιοχη της Πυλίας, στο Στενό της
Μεθώνης, και στα νησιά Σαπιέντζα, Σχίζα,
Αγ. Μαρίνα και Βενέτικο). Μαζί με τη
λιμνοθάλασσα της Γιάλοβας, τον κόλπο
του Ναυαρίνου και την Σφακτηρία αποτελούν
ενα οικοσύστημα που ανήκει στο
ευρωπαικό οικολογικό δίκτυο ζωνών
διατήρησης (Οδηγία 92/43 ΕΕ).
Πρόκειται για περιοχή προστατευόμενη,
σπάνιας ομορφιάς
και
παρόμοιες περιοχές χρήζουν ιδιαίτερης
διατήρησης και οχι υποβάθμισης και
σημαντικής διαταραχής των προστατευόμενων
ειδών απο βαριές οχλήσεις. Σημειώνουμε
επίσης ότι οι περιοχές αυτές αποτελούν
το νοτιότερο μεταναστευτικό σταθμό των
αποδημητικών πτηνών των Βαλκανίων.
Η
διεύρυνση της αεροπορικής δραστηριότητας
και η συνεπακόλουθη ηχορύπανση επιβαρύνουν
το οικοσύστημα, και είναι ασύμβατες με
τη σύγχρονη λογική της ευρωπαϊκής
νομοθεσίας που αφορά το περιβάλλον. Σε
περίπτωση υλοποίησης αυτών των σχεδίων
η χώρα μας θα εκτεθεί διεθνώς και θα
προκληθούν πολλές προσφυγές ακύρωσης
στο Σ.Τ.Ε.
Ζητάμε
από την κυβέρνηση να ενεργοποιήσει και
πάλι την αναστολή χρήσης τού πεδίου
βολής Νήσου Σχίζας
μέχρι να αναζητηθεί εναλλακτική λύση
εκπαίδευσης της Ελληνικής Αεροπορίας
σε συννενόηση με τους Δήμους, τους άλλους
αρμόδιους Φορείς και τον Φορέα Διαχείρισης
της Προστατευόμενης Περιοχής ο οποίος,
μέχρι σήμερα, δεν έχει συγκροτηθεί!
Ζητάμε
την ματαίωση κάθε προσπάθειας επέκτασης
των δραστηριοτήτων της εν λόγω εκπαίδευσης
και σε πολεμικές αεροπορίες άλλων χωρών
διότι το κόστος για τη περιοχή μας και
το περιβάλλον θα είναι πολλαπλάσιο του
όποιου οφέλους.
Καλούμε
τα Πολιτικά Κόμματα, τα Δημοτικά και
Περιφεριακά Συμβούλια και τους βουλευτές
της Μεσσηνίας
να εκφράσουν την αντίθεση τους
επιβεβαιώντας τις σχετικές αποφάσεις
που έχουν λάβει της τελευταίες δεκαετίες.

My name is Thomas Fütterer and I would like to report worrying conditions in one of the most touristically growing regions in Greece, the bay of Navarino with its lagoon and the Natura 2000 nature reserve.

The machines make a deafening noise. This is not acceptable to locals, tourists (there is resistance - many will not come back!), Nor is it acceptable to the Natura 2000 birdlife and other species. It has been proven that the number of migratory birds in the lagoon is decreasing from year to year. The aircraft fly up to 6 hours throughout the day from 7 - 19 hours distributed mostly with two aircraft at the same time over this area.
For us as victims here in Pylos, Gialova, Elaifofyto, Petrochori, Romanos and Koryfasio the question arises what you will do about it. The Temes Group is investing billions in new golf courses and other luxury resorts and is well known for its sustainable tourism. Why do not you do anything about it here - or is it already intervening? When talking to golfers is increasingly clear that this noise is extremely disturbing.
The Greek fear of Turkey is world famous, it is incomprehensible why such flight exercises are not held over the open sea or in simulators - there one would not scare anyone, disturb and make sick. I can promise you, if you have not heard such a plane that makes you sick in the long run!
Greece has as a special economic feature the wonderful local products as well as tourism. Why is this destroyed with unspeakable recurring flying exercises - and then even over a nature reserve? It is not enough to reduce this aircraft noise only over July and August and then to shift it to the hinterland in the mountains!
We are planning an international website on these events, if nothing changes here, to sensitize tourists to these events. Who wants to spend a holiday in a noisy region, which sets itself apart from the special protection of nature reserves and maltreats its own population with noise.
We would be very interested in your opinion on these events. Possibly. Do you already have a knowledge advantage which you want to share with us?
